Top 11 Personal Development Experts
If you are new to personal development I thought I’d just do a quick post on the top 11 people that I have found so far during my research. These people have been a massive source of information to me in the last couple of years, influencing my thought process and attitude to success immensely.
Even though I will feature these people heavily on my site, I still advise you to research these people yourself too – and if you find anything cool let me know so I can post it (I’ll give you credit in the post with your name and links to your own sites if you do – promise!)
At the very least this post can act as short cut for your own research – I hope there are a few names in there that you don’t know
In no particular order…
(click on the names to investigate the people further on ambitiontosucceed.com)
Earl Nightingale
One of originals! He paved the way for the era of radio shows and audio tapes. you may have heard this quote…”You become what you think about.”, that Earl!
Tony Robbins
Tony is probably the most well know modern media friendly expert. He is recognised as a peak performance psychologist. Often referred to as the Leader that leaders call upon!
Brian Tracy
Brian is considered to be one of America’s leading authorities on the development of human potential and personal effectiveness. I have personally found the business books and multiple-stream-of-income topics to be his best work.
Zig Ziglar
Zig is one one the most popular authors and speakers in this genre. He started around 1970 and has been one of the most active speakers travelling all around the world delivering powerful, life-changing messages with humor and a lot of enthusiasm! I would say that Ziglar’s main topic is ‘the art of selling’.
Wayne Dyer
Wayne is an award-winning speaker that features on the International Speakers Hall of Fame. He is mostly known for developing your inner thoughts to cultivate personal motivation. Recently turning 70 years of age (and unfortunately being diagnosed with cancer) he still lectures – the most recent being in San Diego on the 11 May 2010! This guy is inspirational – be warned though he can get a bit spiritual if that not your thing.
Napoleon Hill
Napoleon Hill is considered to have influenced more people into success than any other person in history. He was the first person in the world to conduct research on the philosophy of individual achievement. After 20 years of investigation Hill wrote several best-selling books Including “Think And Grow Rich”. Heard of it? if not READ IT!!
Dale Carnegie
One of the true originals! Dale Carnegie was the first person ever to create a course/forum for overcoming worry and fear to develop human relations and leadership skills. Nine decades on, his theories still hold true. If you listen to some of this generations leading experts you will hear reference and inspiration from this man! A true genius in my opinion – and millions of other by the way
Jim Rohn
Jim labeled himself as a philosopher and motivational counselor. He is without doubt one of the pianeering speakers that paved the way for the many that have followed. He’s speeches revolve around getting the best out of life for yourself, be it personal or business. Jim unfortunately died this year – but he will live on for generations with his timeless lectures.
Robert Kiyosaki
Robert is best know for his ‘Rich Dad-Poor Dad’ series. Richard was one of the first people I came across on my travels and I have personally learnt a lot from him about multiple streams of revenue as well as concentrating on passive income. If you are in debt he offers some great advise. His wealth came from real estate but even ignoring that part (which I don’t advise) he still provides a great blueprint for success with his ‘Success Quadrant’ – check it out!
Les Brown
Les is a renowned public speaker with a massive personality delivering a high-energy messages which tells people to live up to their greatness. Les had no formal education past high school, which allows him to preach about the importance of persistence, determination and self-education to fulfill human potential. Les Brown is premier keynote speaker so in my opinion the best way to enjoy him is via video.
Stephen Covey
Stephen’s main focus is Leadership probably most widely acknowledged as one of the world’s leading authorities on empowerment. You may not have heard of him but I’m sure you’ve heard of his book “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”.
Any I’ve missed off the list that you think deserve to be on here? Let me know!
Only heard of Tony Robbins and Brian Tracy on this list. Looks like I have some research to do… Nice post! Love the Earl Nightingale ”You become what you think about.” quote. Nice!

In summary Ambition To Succeed.com is a place that collates a wealth of ideas, inspirations and resource material for people that are ambitious for success in life.
However effectively this is a journal / scrapbook for my journey to success.
I have recently turned 30 years of age and for a number of years I’ve been on a quest researching ‘successful’ people and techniques for achieving success. I’ve read lots (and lots!) of books, watched loads of videos, of which many have inspired me in a number of ways.
So about me… Don’t get me wrong, I have had a great start to life – loving and encouraging parents, a fantastic circle of friends, I’ve been educated at a top level and gained management level employment earning good money… BUT…. That just it there was always a but!
For a long time I’ve been thinking ‘there must be something more’, am I wrong for wanting more out of life? Are things that bad? Of course they are not bad… but something, an indescribable burning drive for achieving something more in life.
